Ashburn Chemical Technologies Donates to the City of Houston’s Paying it Forward Earthquake and Hurricane Relief Response to Haiti

HOUSTON, TX. – Ashburn Chemical Technologies, the supplier of FLUID360™ and FACILITYCARE360™ solutions that works to GO BEYOND and protect people, process, and production, is grateful to have been able to donate essential products for the City of Houston’s Paying it Forward Earthquake and Hurricane Relief Response to Haiti.

On August 21, in response to the recent natural disasters in Haiti, Mayor Sylvester Turner announced Houston’s Paying It Forward Earthquake and Hurricane Relief Response to Haiti. The City of Houston has partnered with Houston Haitians United and the National Association of Christian Churches (NACC) Disaster Services to collect supplies for Haitians recovering from the major earthquake and storm that recently devastated Haiti.

“The “Six C’s” of our culture defines everything we do and how we work together to serve our others: consideration, customer needs, continuous improvement, cash flow, community and common sense,” said Ashburn Company President, Eric Heinle. “It is this commitment to serving the community and supporting the communities where we live and work, that drove Ashburn’s desire to get involved and help the Haitian citizens.”

Ashburn employees from various departments including Customer Service, Marketing, Operations, Maintenance, Service, etc., joined together over two days for the express purpose of labeling, packaging and prepping for shipment more than 14,000 cans/bottles of product. “Without the extra effort from these employees, this shipment would not have been able to get out the door,” said Julie Bodine, VP of Marketing. “Our regular shop employees who do this difficult work on a daily basis were busy filling customer orders. We utilized employees from other departments so we could not only get this donation together, but ensure we got our customer’s orders out on time.”

Ashburn was able to donate a full truckload consisting of 24 pallets of product including hand sanitizer, foaming germicidal spray, hospital disinfectant spray, non-acid disinfectants and other essentials for a total donation of more than $52,000.

“Ashburn employees are heartbroken for the Haitian people who have endured such tragedy and loss,” said Kacey Noland, Ashburn CFO. “We are appreciative of the City of Houston for organizing this opportunity to donate to such an important cause and we proud to come together as a small, locally-owned business to make such a robust donation.”
